Re: Demo acetate
The demo acetate with “The girl I never loved” written by Randy Starr (publisher Gladys Music) was used in the movie Clambake.
Another demo acetate with the same title is published by Hill and Range.
Question: Is the song published by Hill and Range written by Randy Starr or another songwriter?

Re: Demo acetate
Moon burn
The song is written by Fred Wise-Ben Weisman-Dolores Fuller for the movie Blue Hawaii but rejected.
I’ve no information about the songspot in the movie and the song is not mentioned in the CD set / book “Making of Blue Hawaii”.
On the backside of the Electrovox acetate is the demo version of Playing with fire (Fred Wise-Ben Weisman). In the musical breakdown this song was selected for scene 167 but never recorded.
Both tracks were released in 2025 on CD’s “The bootleg series Elvis Presley - Rareties volume 1 & 2”
(Label Elvisone):
volume 1: Moon burn;
volume 2: Playing with fire.
