I guess there will not be much, if any, new audio on it. But for me, the book is what this release is all about. Not looking forward to the price though...

Update: the price will be €220,-

For several years now, I've been disappointed with FTD.

The reason is that they keep packaging some unknown takes into deluxe sets. Fans with
little money, who can barely afford their hobby, are left out. I can't afford these box sets
and therefore have to do without new audio material.

It would be great if FTD offered the outtakes individually as downloads, or a special CD
just with these recordings, which are otherwise hard to find.

I'm happy for the collectors and understand their approach from a business perspective.
But there are also fans who don't have much money and need it for family, housing, and
so on.

Those were the good old days when CDs were filled only with new material. You can still
get pictures one way or another. But I'm probably missing out on the new outtakes.

Yawn… 5 CDs and only a few new instrumental takes.
And yet another book I don’t care for at all.
Thanks, but no thanks

I think you make a valid point.

These sets are expensive and it would be good if they release these CD's also separate from the book (like they did with A Boy From Tupelo and The Blue Hawaii sessions). That way people that don't want to, or can't, spend a lot of money can still get these recordings.

I really enjoyed the King Creole and Blue Hawaii book sets so I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get this one.

Yes in low mp3 bitrate…sounds ok on poor laptop speakers only.
But if no other listening option its better than nothing.

FTD could have included demo acetates (see scan); I don't know the demo acetates are in the FTD - archive.

Pocketful of rainbows – demo version sung by Jimmy Breedlove was released in 2006 on FTD CD2 Writing for the king.

Do you know that is for certain or is that an assumption. Didn’t they say they were going to do that with an earlier book/cd project like On Tour, but never did.
