It was the late 1970s and I saw Roustabout on a midnight movie tv showing

I think Paradise hawaiian style was next, and I have seen every Elvis Presley picture since then

and many documentaries about him also

First saw "Elvis - That's The Way It Is" on BBC1 - screened on the evening of August 17th, 1977.

First scripted movie I saw was "Loving You" which was screened a week later.

First TV Special I saw was either "Aloha from Hawaii" - first screened by the BBC in March, 1978 or "Elvis in Concert" (CBS TV Special) first screened in June, 1978...my memory tends to lean towards the latter ever so slightly...

Must be early seventies GI Blues was on the Dutch national TV. That was my first Elvis movie, in fact it was the first time i ever heard of him. Strange thing was in the TV guide back then was an photo from a guy with a white suit and big hair (now i know it was from the TTWII time). The guy in the movie looked completly different. After that i heard his hits from the 50's 60's on radio. In those days we had less acces to information, no interent, no youtube, no spotify. Only TV guides or magazines. And radio and tv (2 Dutch channels and 3 German, later 3 Dutch channels)

I honestly can't remember. It wasn't that big of a deal to me, since I've never been a big movie-buff. However, the original That's The Way It Is, Viva Las Vegas and Clambake are movies I've seen relatively soon after becoming a fan. All of them on good ol' linear television.

Never saw any of his movies in the theaters [considering I was just a baby back then lol], but the first Elvis movie I saw on TV in later years was "Girl Happy"

it is interesting how often there is little attention to his movies
