It was the late 1970s and I saw Roustabout on a midnight movie tv showing
I think Paradise hawaiian style was next, and I have seen every Elvis Presley picture since then
and many documentaries about him also

First saw "Elvis - That's The Way It Is" on BBC1 - screened on the evening of August 17th, 1977.
First scripted movie I saw was "Loving You" which was screened a week later.
First TV Special I saw was either "Aloha from Hawaii" - first screened by the BBC in March, 1978 or "Elvis in Concert" (CBS TV Special) first screened in June, 1978...my memory tends to lean towards the latter ever so slightly...

Must be early seventies GI Blues was on the Dutch national TV. That was my first Elvis movie, in fact it was the first time i ever heard of him. Strange thing was in the TV guide back then was an photo from a guy with a white suit and big hair (now i know it was from the TTWII time). The guy in the movie looked completly different. After that i heard his hits from the 50's 60's on radio. In those days we had less acces to information, no interent, no youtube, no spotify. Only TV guides or magazines. And radio and tv (2 Dutch channels and 3 German, later 3 Dutch channels)

I honestly can't remember. It wasn't that big of a deal to me, since I've never been a big movie-buff. However, the original That's The Way It Is, Viva Las Vegas and Clambake are movies I've seen relatively soon after becoming a fan. All of them on good ol' linear television.

Never saw any of his movies in the theaters [considering I was just a baby back then lol], but the first Elvis movie I saw on TV in later years was "Girl Happy"

My first Elvis memory from TV is Paradise Hawaiian Style, which Swedish SVT aired in March 1977.
I also remember Roustabout, but I don’t know if that was before or after PHS.
After that, it’s Aloha From Hawaii, which Norwegian NRK aired on New Year’s Eve 1979.
NRK also aired In Concert and 68 Comeback in february 1980.
BTW any members from Sweden here?

I wish I knew. Perhaps it was Jailhouse Rock, which also has got to be among the first ones that I saw. It was always about the music for me. Still is.
And let's face it: his movie career was not handled properly. Elvis was a pretty decent actor with both comedic and dramatic talent that was under-utilized and mismanaged to the detriment of both, and herein lies some irony, his movie and music careers.
Some of his movies are charming though, while others are quite painful to watch.

Elvis movies first 4 movies were good quality, and Change of Habit was socially relevant
most ironically, Elvis who wanted to be in movies, became his own genre Presley Picture under the Star Vehicle category
Pretty Scenery, Pretty Girls, background social commentary, fights and usually some sort of race

Elvis' Movies were on TV frequently when I was a kid, so I couldn't say which movie I saw first.
It was after I really got hooked on him that one day I skipped school (hiding in my bedroom closet

)
until my parents left for work so I could watch
Love Me Tender and Loving You.
The whipping I got from my Dad was worth it.

I had seen one of the beach movies long ago- which put me off Elvis in general. I don't remember which one was it.
When I got into Elvis a few years ago, I watched his movies. I think King Creole was the first one.
