Elvis’s Last Costume – A Suit Never Worn.

As Elvis prepared for his next tour in August 1977, designer Bill Belew and his team were working on a brand-new jumpsuit for the King. It was a soft pale blue, covered in hundreds of tiny mirrors designed to reflect the stage lights as Elvis moved an outfit meant to dazzle.

But the suit was never finished. And Elvis never got to wear it.

Just one day after his passing, on August 17, 1977, the tour was officially cancelled. What was meant to be a new chapter became the closing of an unforgettable book.

Today, this unworn costume rests in the Graceland Archives, alongside thousands of other treasures that tell the story of Elvis’s life, legacy, and love for his fans.

Well, we will never know how this suit would have looked on him but I seriously dislike this one. To my taste and judgement, it is horrendous. Just like the Rainfall or the Bicentennial suits I do not think it would have looked favorably on him at all.

I saw this suit in 1989 at Graceland as the unfinished suit.

My photo of it is blurry and I am not sure how to upload it to this site.

Images seem to need to be a link.

The Elvis Alivers wrongly claimed Elvis did not have any news suits made for this new tour

I expect this would have reflected the stage lights a lot and it would have been impressive

Elvis' jumpsuits were copied not only by other performers in the era, but influenced all the science fiction shows too.
