Elvis, Scotty and Bill played Eagle’s Nest Nest in Memphis, a nightclub over the changing room at the Clearpool complex. They performed Blue Moon Of Kentucky, Sittin On Top Of The World, Thats All Right; and the other acts were Tiny Dixon Band, Chuck Reed, Hugh Jeffries

Oscar Davis, who was working at that time as the advance man for Colonel Parker, was attending the show.

Bob Neal brought Oscar Davis to the Eagle’s Nest on either October 29th “or the following night. Davis, a flamboyant vaudeville, carnival, and country music promoter a little down on his luck, was working at that time as an advance man for Colonel Tom Parker on an Eddy Arnold show booked into Memphis’ Ellis Auditorium for this weekend. Parker had continued to book Arnold in certain markets after his managerial split with the country music star the previous year.”

Meanwhile while the Colonel drove to Memphis to talk with Sam Philips about an agreement. The price for purchasing Elvis’ contract is set on $35.000, against a non-refundable deposit of $5,000 which the Colonel had to put down.

A new ending for Love Me Tender was filmed at the Junco Studio. The new scene had a ghostly image hovering over the mourners walking away from the grave. It almost seemed Elvis’ hair was dyed black in this scene. While during the rest of the film his hair had its natural color.

In Los Angeles after his concert at the Pan Pacific Auditorium, Elvis Presley met Ricky Nelson for the first time at the Beverly Wilshire hotel. Elvis said, “Man, I just love your new record,” referring to “Be-Bop Baby.” Presley also mentioned that he was a fan of his family’s “Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet” TV show, and he gave the young singer some advice about touring.

Cliff Richard and the Shadows were at No.1 on the UK singles chart with ‘Travellin’ Light’. Their 6th release and second No.1 hit.

Military Service: Elvis was discharged form the hospital and told to remain at home for 3 more days.

Freddy Bienstock arrived at Graceland to go over the songs for the next recording session in Nashville with Elvis.

The Beatles made their second appearance on the Granada TV program ‘People and Places.’ Filmed in Manchester, they performed two songs, ‘Love Me Do’ and ‘A Taste of Honey’.

From October 8 to the end of the month, Elvis watched movies at the Memphian or the Crosstown almost every night .

1976
Elvis Presley‘s final studio recording session is held at his Graceland mansion in a mobile studio sent by RCA. Even in that atmosphere, Elvis struggled through the process, which would produce the LP “From Elvis Presley Boulevard, Memphis, Tennessee”.

Elvis spent a lot of time in his bedroom, where he invited some of the singers and musicians. He even gave away some old clothes.

Elvis spent some of the night riding motortrykes up and down the driveway

There was set up a studio in the “Jungle Room” to make a start with the first night recording session, running from 9.00 p.m. to 8.00 a.m. There were 3 songs recorded, including Way Down.

That was good enough for third place on their list of dead celebrities making the most money. Fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent came in first at $350 million, songwriters Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein were second with $235 million and Elvis Presley was fourth, earning $55 million. “If I Can Dream: Elvis Presley with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra” was released, featuring duets with Canadian singer Michael Bublé and Italian trio Il Volo The album debuted at number one in the United Kingdom, giving Elvis a record-equalling 12th UK number one. As of September 2016, the album had sold 1.6 million copies worldwide; It is also Presley’s 50th album to hit the UK top 10, and 59 years since his first number-one album on the chart, also a record. In the United States, the album debuted and peaked at number 21 on the Billboard 200 after having entered the Billboard Classical Chart at number 17 the previous week.[7] Due to the inclusion of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, this marked the first time a Presley record had entered that chart. It then jumped from #17 to #1 in its second week and held that position in its third week, while then successively remaining inside the top 15 positions for the next forty eight weeks. As of September 2016, the album had sold nearly 100,000 copies in the United States
