New Elvis CD Announcement: A Grand Finale In Indianapolis
Just got sent this in my email
Knock Out Records is proud to announce the release of A Grand Finale in Indianapolis,

This historic show, presented here, sounds superior to all previously available versions. During his final concert, Elvis delivered powerful performances of “Little Sister,” “I Can’t Stop Loving You,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” and “Release Me.” This recording truly captures the atmosphere and emotion of Elvis’ final appearance on stage.

Re: New Elvis CD Announcement: A Grand Finale In Indianapolis
Unless it's a newly discovered soundboard or multi track, I ain't buying. I've had too many versions of this concert in my collection already. They all sound exactly the same. Poor audience recording. I suspect this new money grab release is no different. Thanks, but no thanks.

I believe there are two audiense recorded sources.
The one released as "The last farewell" on vinyl (and incomplete cd) and the "Adios" version by AJR.
Al the following up ones are sourced from these two.
I have highly doubt this version will sound any better.

It's telling that there's no mention of a new or improved source tape...

The Rapid City show is at least as good as this one and probably better. Bridge Over Troubled Water, Release Me, and I Can’t Stop Loving You are difficult to listen to and show how diminished Elvis was.NinaFromCanadaEh wrote: October 19th, 2025, 12:20 pm

Re: New Elvis CD Announcement: A Grand Finale In Indianapolis
Blatant errors on the front cover (in this case "Market Square Garden") are always a good indicator of a quality release. Someone clearly had "Madison Square Garden" in mind while designing the cover, and never bothered to double-check. We'll see what this is about but I have my doubts for now.
For those that don't have the show in their collections yet, this release might still be interesting. Although I hope FTD will get to Indy at some point. Elvis delivered that night and it shows.

As expected, this version has the "Adios" cd as source.
It may be sound a (very very tiny bit) better, but in a way it's the same.
If one could reduce the echo from it, it could be another thing..
But for new, the fan who hasn't have Elvis his latest concert , they could do worse.
