Maybe some of you remember the German "Bravo" magazine. It has always been a supplier of many Elvis articles through the years. I have scans of, I think, all the Elvis articles from 1956 up to 1988. If you are interested I will post these scans, year by year.
The first batch is 1956. This year Elvis wasn't commonly known yet in Europe... but that soon would change...

Thanks Bilbo!:Elvis seemed to be one of those artists that Bravo kept running stories about. I bought numerous issues in the 80's that had articles on Elvis and they aƶlways had great color photos and sometimes posters.

From 1956 we go to 1957. Elvis' name was now established in Europe too. Bravo magazine started their series "Elvis Presley Story" so that German (and European) fans could learn who the boy was... this boy from Missouri (...)

By the way... the first real Dutch "insight article" (dated from september 1956) was extremely negative about Elvis Presley. The Elvis hysteria in the US and UK was called a spreading disease. Elvis was called a weak faced greasy haired fellow with spastic movements. The rock and roll rage would very soon die a silent death... The journalist was a man called Skip Voogd... an authority on modern music in those days...

No, I wish I had. I have some, and some others I had but they got lost during the years. These files I got years ago from a friend of mine.

Luckily, a lot of the Dutch people (of my age

) can read German too. I can tell you that these are nice articles, but they are written for the teens of those days. They are not very informative, but very "sensationalistic". Like "Elvis told BRAVO exclusively about his secret love!" and other journalistic masterpieces.

Fun to read though...

Next up are the last Bravo articles of 1957...
Issue 46, 1957
Issue 48, 1957
Issue 49, 1957
And issue 50, 1957
That concludes 1957. Next up is the great year of 1958!
