Elvis Presley would have marked his 91st birthday on January 8, 2026, and according to Priscilla Presley, the music icon would have embraced the milestone by continuing to live life to the fullest.
In an interview with HELLO!, Presley reflected on the King of Rock and Roll’s milestone birthday, sharing that if Elvis were still alive, she believes he would have celebrated it much the same way he always did. She believes that 91 wouldn’t have slowed him down or changed his zest for life.
“I think he’d be doing the same thing in life, singing and touring. He loved it,” she told the outlet.
Presley reminisced about the good times with her late ex-husband, whom she was married to for six years, from 1967 through 1973. They met in 1959 when she was 14, and Elvis was 24.

“He had the best laugh,” she recalled. “He just had a great sense of humor and [was] fun to be with.”
Even after their divorce, Elvis and his ex-wife remained on good terms as they parented their only daughter, Lisa Marie Presley. “We always remained friendly and would still get together,” she told HELLO!

“Of course, we had our daughter and I would bring her to see her dad perform and made sure they spent a lot of time together. She’d spent extensive time with him at Graceland. We still cared for each other.”
The couple’s story was documented in Presley’s 2025 book, Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis. Her first memoir, Elvis and Me [1985], detailed their unique love story from their first meeting as teenagers through their marriage, parenthood, and divorce.
She told HELLO! that writing the book was challenging at times. “It took me a while to finish it up – more than 11 months. You remember a lot of things, and it was a good thing to be honest. A lot of remembering wonderful times and difficult times, and you’re reliving your life.”
Softly, As I Leave You delves into Presley’s life after Elvis, including raising Lisa Marie, her successful movie and television career, and romantic relationships. It also shares her heartbreak after her daughter’s untimely death at the age of 54 on January 12, 2023.
Today, Priscilla Presley continues to have a hand in helping to maintain Graceland, acting as a special advisor to the trust that is now run by her granddaughter Riley Keough, Lisa Marie’s eldest daughter.
