Re: Demo acetate
Bad luck blues
The song was written by Doc Pomus & Mort Shuman.
According to an unconfirmed story the song was offered to Elvis around 1962 but rejected.
I've no more information about the recording.

Re: Demo acetate
In 1971 RCA wanted singles – a pop album – a gospel album and first of all a new Christmas album.
Hill & Range / Freddy Bienstock selected songs for Elvis’ albums and movies.
Through the years Freddie Bienstock have sent hundreds of acetates to Elvis.
The acetate with ”As Joseph is a walking” is a demo version recorded by an Elvis-sound-a-like; probably rejected in a pre-selection because Elvis had folk songs in his mind for the may 1971 recordings and new releases.
About the song: It’s a Christmas carol composed in 1918 by Geoffrey Shaw
Known versions:
Recorded in 1961 by Joseph D. Frances on YT;
Recorden in 1970 by Chuck Wagon Gang on LP Going home for Christmas (Columbia 30263).

Re: Demo acetate
Fast driving man (Giant-Baum-Kaye) – selected for spot 1 but rejected in a pre-selection dated 12 april 1967. The demo is sung by Bill Giant.
For unknown reason I can't upload a scan from this label. It's a pity but the label looks all the same like other labels from demos; only now with another songtitle. I keep it that way.
