I totally agree. I think the beauty of these videos is that all of us viewers get to share the excitement of unpacking records and sometimes seeing them for the first time with Alexander. That feeling when finding new things for your collection is definitely one of the main drivers in the hobby of collecting, at least for me. :)

Thanks. I also own the pink vinyl edition as well as the first run on Arcade with that real 70s brown cover.

I love these videos. Did you win the Double Trouble LP bid?
No I didn't unfortunately. Usually bids sky rocket with this seller so I was cautious given the fact that I spend quite a bit above my budget in the last couple of months. In the end the record sold for a reasonably low price and I was quite sad that I did not throw in a higher bid, but then again: my spend was well exceeded and I am happy with the records I did manage to buy.

The Green Label ELvis For Everyone above is the only pressing to have the correct stereo and mono tracks on it - another boppin bob cut I seem to remember.

An unconnected quaestion - does anybody know what the japanese Our Memories of Elvis vol 2 sounds like?

I listened to The Legend lp some weeks ago. It was mastered by BBJ and the sound is really clear and punchy,as I recall.

But the interesting thing is the track list: it is really diverse. I didn't really look at the tracks before listening and boy,was it full of suprises! Having Too Much and In The Ghetto in the same lp is pretty alternative approach, I would say

Not sure such a list exists - its very much a work in progress.

We had a load of them identified on FECC of course but maybe we should start another thread The Boppin' Bob Elvis Pressings starting with discogs to build upon? I suspect many of the Jack Adams (JA) Elvis pressings were heavily influenced by Bob Jones as they have an identical sound signature to them. The Green Label RCA International pressings of the 1957 Christmas Album and Speedway (especially the bonus songs) are prime examples but only have the JA signature in the deadwax. JA and Boppin' Bob are often seen on the respective sides of an Elvis LP.

Hi Lester...as the BBJ Discogs catalog is an easy find...it`s probably better just to list the ones that are not on Discogs, or convince Alexander to do a follow-up video ;) I`m sure there is some here who have completed their BBJ collection.

Check the page 4 of this very thread. viewtopic.php?p=907#p907

Alexander pictured almost all the green label RCA International pressings from the UK there. Only How Grest Thou Srt was missing. Most of them were mastered by BBJ, and some by JA.

I've come to realize also that there are sometimes two identical versions of some of those titles existing with the only difference being that the other was cut by BBJ and other JA. You cannot identify which is which without seeing the deadwax. Very confusing indeed.

Not really. I based my episode at the time on this list of releases credited to Boppin' Bop Jones: Elvis Presley Discography Bob Jones

I would love to do a follow up video one day but the matter is quite complex. To fresh up your memory: was it @LesterB who at the time at FECC mentioned the Green Label 1981 RCA International releases were either pressed at the RCA UK Pressing Plant (Washington, UK) or in assignment on the EMI Pressing Plant in Hayes, West-London or at both locations? The production facility also determined which engineer cut the lacquer (see below).

Let's not forget some of the mighty fine 80s Camdens you will find here and were also BBJ cuts: viewtopic.php?t=37&start=100

Most likely Jack Adams worked as a lacquer cutter for the EMI Pressing Plant while Bob Jones was assigned by RCA Ltd. to cut the lacquers for the runs pressed at the RCA Washington Plant. The soundscape of the Jack Adams and Bob Jones cuts are very similar and as some runs would be pressed in both plants I assume one engineer (Bob Jones: he was appointed by RCA) was in the lead, because it would have been odd for RCA to release an album where the different production runs differed significantly in sound. I think, for that reason, you can assume that the lacquers cut by Jack Adams were created based on the original mastering by Bob Jones. It is an assumption, but since the soundscape is so similar there is some logic to it ;)
