The mix of rehearsal and live footage was very well done, but rather than sync this to one performance (preferably live), they appear to have used the original audio for all clips.

This made the performance sound uneven, and it was very noticeable when the audio switched from the live recording to the sparser rehearsal audio...
OMG!! It's an EDITED travesty!!!
It's gonna be the ultimate EDITED 'Baz-Fest' with some enhanced AI EDITED in just for good measure!!!
I wish I was able to EDIT the month of February in 2026 - If so, I might be able to miss out on this EDITED opportunity!!! 🤬😡

I saw EPiC Sep 26 in Zürich.
For me as a long time 70's collector it was amazing.
Seeing some of this footage for the very first time in this quality was a fantastic experience. And super audio.
No worries for an enhanced feel, absolutely genuin and true to the original visuals.
Set aside your reservations and book a ticket in February.

Probably will book a ticket to see it EDITED on the big screen because that will decide whether or not I purchase the EDITED Blu ray when that is eventually released...

But thanks for the heads-up, anyway 🙂

Thanks for the heads up Edwin. I would be interested to hear your opinion on the flow of the film. I have no problem with the cut up style, but are we looking at fragments of songs here, or slightly truncated performances? I would hope it's the latter as the film should really be a showcase for peak '70's Elvis ...

Thx rockingrebel,

It's been almost 3 months since i've seen EPiC.
And of course only once.
I recommend you take a look at a post from elv75 blogspot.
That has a lot of specifics.
In 2 months we can all enjoy it.
Several performances are complete.

Thanks for including that link, Edwin.
After reading that I'm not too impressed or excited enough to anticipate it's eventual worldwide release . That blog review kind of sums up my thoughts already about the re-use of material which already exists within "TTWII", "EOT", and "The Lost Performances". However, I'm sure it all looks and sounds super-streamlined with a few bells and whistles added along with considerable EDITING of song performances. But, one particular 'red alert' travesty is the inclusion of original studio vocal overdubbing a live performance visual!!! 🤬

Great news about the discovery of the complete Hampton Roads concert - will probably be released just in time for August 2027.

However, what about the complete Richmond, Greensboro, and San Antonio concerts??!! Are these still undiscovered?? 🤔

Thanks Edwin. Great review. I'm sure it will be very entertaining to watch, and if we do get that complete Hampton show at some point we'll have the best of both worlds - a great overview that will appeal to the general public and a deeper dive for the discerning fan...

I notice that a lot of the tracks are labelled "EPiC version" - does this mean they're all EDITED??!!! 😲😲😲😲😲

The soundtrack for the 2022 biopic is a good benchmark for this. We are likely to get new mixes, as we have seen from the previews of the film, and there are obviously a few mash ups in there. However, irrespective of how songs appeared in the 2022 film, they were generally complete on the soundtrack album.

Its also worth noting that the tracks need to be correctly tagged for streaming purposes, or people could get the wrong version of songs when cueing up different albums or specific tracks...

Hello,

One of the things that I hope the EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert Blu ray release does include is a bunch of extra performances not seen in the theatrical film. Give me a solid two hours of additional performances restored to the same quality (not necessarily EPiC versions with additional overdubs) of performances not found in the film, though some of them could have been previously available elsewhere. I'm going to omit the 2000 Special Edition of TTWII as there has been a Blu ray release of that film version. Here's a breakdown of what I mean:

TTWII (1970 original film)
The Next Step Is Love (rehearsal)
Stranger in the Crowd (rehearsal)
What'd I Say (rehearsal)
Polk Salad Annie (stage rehearsal)
One Night
Suspicious Minds
I've Lost You
Bridge over Troubled Water
Sweet Caroline
I Just Can't Help Believin'

This Is Elvis
Always on My Mind

Elvis, The Lost Performances
Men with Broken Hearts / Walk a Mile in My Shoes
The Wonder of You
Don't Cry Daddy / In the Ghetto (both performances and in the case of In the Ghetto, original audio)
There Goes My Everything
Make the World Go Away
Just Pretend
Heartbreak Hotel
Twenty Days and Twenty Nights
Love Me
Hound Dog
Don't Be Cruel
I Washed My Hands in Muddy Water (rehearsal)
I Was the One (rehearsal)
Cattle Call (rehearsal)
Baby, Let's Play House (rehearsal)
Don't (rehearsal)
Money Honey (rehearsal)
All Shook Up (Hampton Roads 1972)
(Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear / Don't Be Cruel (Hampton Roads 1972)
Are You Lonesome Tonight? (Hampton Roads 1972)
I Can't Stop Loving You (Hampton Roads 1972)
How Great Thou Art (Hampton Roads 1972)
Release Me (And Let Me Love Again) (Greensboro 1972)
I Can't Stop Loving You (rehearsal)

TTWII Special Edition - Additional Hour
Don't (also from Elvis, The Lost Performances)
Baby, Let's Play House (also from Elvis, The Lost Performances)
Cattle Call (also from Elvis, The Lost Performances)
Eating Burgers (candid footage)
Farther Along
Hey Jude
I Just Can't Help Believin' (from original TTWII)
I've Lost You (from original TTWII)
Little Sister / Get Back (alternate) (non-EPiC version)
Mystery Train / Tiger Man (alternate)
Oh, Happy Day (rehearsal - non-EPiC version)
Party Sequence (Hotel Suite candid footage)
Men with Broken Hearts (Poem) / Walk a Mile in My Shoes (from Elvis, The Lost Performances)
Something
Stranger in the Crowd
Sweet Caroline (from original TTWII)
Yesterday
You Don't Have to Say You Love Me (rehearsal) (alternate)

From the original closing credits to TTWII - Special Edition
Are You Lonesome Tonight? (non-EPiC version)

From the import DVD He Didn't Come Back, We Did
You Don't Have to Say You Love Me (rehearsal) (alternate)
Eating Burgers
Hey Jude (rehearsal)
Twenty Days and Twenty Nights (rehearsal)
Something (rehearsal)
Farther Along (rehearsal)
Mother-in-Law (rehearsal)
Santa Claus Is Back in Town (rehearsal)
Don't Cry Daddy (rehearsal)
In the Ghetto (rehearsal)
Oh, Happy Day (rehearsal)
I've Lost You (rehearsal)
I Just Can't Help Believin' (from original TTWII)
Bridge over Troubled Water (from original TTWII)
Hound Dog (from original TTWII)
Walk a Mile in My Shoes (from Elvis, The Lost Performances)
I've Lost You (from original TTWII)
Words
Sweet Caroline (from original TTWII)
Little Sister
Stranger in the Crowd
Are You Lonesome Tonight?
Post Concert Party
Johnny B. Goode (rehearsal)
Always on My Mind (rehearsal)
Love Me (rehearsal)
All Shook Up (rehearsal)
Heartbreak Hotel (rehearsal)
(Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear / Don't Be Cruel (rehearsal)
Hound Dog (rehearsal)

The Searcher
Burning Love (rehearsal)

Of course there's also performances that I've seen clips of on YouTube and elsewhere that I'd like to see included as well. Some of these are incomplete while others are complete.

You Don't Have to Say You Love Me (August 10, 1970 Opening Night show)
The Next Step Is Love (August 10, 1970 Opening Night Show) - incomplete footage on Elvis
I Was the One (August 12, 1970 Midnight Show) - incomplete footage on Elvis
For the Good Times (Hampton Roads 1972)
