Those are from May. I guess each volume covers one particular month.
Yes they were in May but belong to the third tour.....anyway hope they left them for another release

Surprised that Saginaw didn't make the cut - perhaps Vol. 4?

Is it possible that with Volume 3, this series is over, and there isn't a single more soundboard in Sony/FTD's possession? Not from May or June 1977?
If so, it's clear they'll be in the hands of collectors who don't want to share anything with others, and any chance of hearing it in the future will be lost, perhaps...

Given that I missed the Saginaw soundboard on Final Curtain box, I was really hoping that FTD will release it on The Final Tours vol. 3.

It is the only fully recorded concert (not sure if 100% complete) from the April/May tour, and in a decent sound too.

It is disappointing that this concert did not find its way on vol. 3 and I doubt that it will be on vol. 4 (if there will be vol. 4).

I assume that this concert is not in Sony’s vaults and for some reason FTD decided not to use the audio previously released on the bootleg (Final Curtain).

Pitty- although I will by vol. 3, I would rather buy (for the same price) a single cd with the Saginaw show.

The only one who has released a (nearly) complete show, from May, so far is Boxcar's ''The Final Curtain'' (2011).

It features one multi-track song, which also sounds the best on that same Boxcar set, compared to FTD's "Spring Tours".

The question is whether FTD/Sony will have the May 3rd show from Saginaw in their possession anyway, or whether they will have other shows from May.

Bootleggers often have copies of soundboard tapes. It's possible that FTD/Sony has the original Saginaw tape.

I think that by now, many fans are older, and when we know that some people know exactly what's in the archives and what isn't, this secrecy, in my humble opinion, no longer makes sense.
We're all grown-ups now; if there aren't practically any of the legendary shows we all know, you can tell us.
I don't understand this strategy of not revealing anything at all.

This will never happen.

Circulation and sales figures for FTD products are also not disclosed. Personally, I'm not interested in that either.

I think FTD left the Saginaw and Chicago shows for another release...maybe to make this 77 series longer. I once read that the Chicago shows were recorded complete by request from the the Colonel....don't know it its true ;)

Hope you’re not too disappointed.

I’d be surprised if we don’t see a Volume 4 or even a Volume 5 in this series which could well end with FTD doing something with the CBS In Concert Special around the 50th anniversary in 2027. It’s just a shame that all the recordings released so far in the series do not have the first few songs recorded, although I guess the bonus, if you want to call it a bonus, is that we don’t have to listen to the boring ‘dive bomber’ routine on each show. ;)

Otherwise, you could always skip it. I think a complete show is more desirable than an incomplete one.

Yes, more desirable and that’s why I wrote "It’s just a shame that all the recordings released so far in the series do not have the first few songs recorded"

Hello - my first post in this forum...:-)
I got the two first volumes in this series - but is most of this vol.3 not included in "The Final Curtain"- box set? A quick glance of both made me think this. but anyway -I'll probably get this volume anyway

If you already own the Final Curtain Boxset, you should be able to compare yourself. If you haven’t, then you can check with the listing in this site.
