First of all I never touch the surface of a CD, so cleaning is seldom needed. But if I do clean them, I just use a microfiber cloth, or doekjeAfoolSuchAsI. wrote: September 15th, 2025, 5:59 am Hi Bilbobaggins, how do you clean youre cd s ?

That sounds good! You use every original track from the performer that first recorded it? That is a nice journey along the steps of modern music-history. I should do that someday.Iwillbetrue wrote: September 15th, 2025, 6:28 am Right now I am listening to a homemade playlist with all the original tracks that Elvis covered. Re: What Elvis Music Are You Listening To Now
I just listened new MRS’ 2 cds ‘From Elvis Revorded Live in Memphis 1974’.
I will not review these cds given the first concert (16th March) was issued on bootleg years ago (Hello Memphis) and the second one (17th March) was released on FTD as part of ‘Hometown Shows’.
Unfortunatelly the sound on both of MRS’s cds is not even close to MRS’ previous releases.
Both cds sound artificial and James Buton’s guitar is so silent that it does not stand out even during the guitar solos (CC Rider or Steamroller Blues). It is so weird, James’ guitar is bearly audiable.
Like it is not there..
Even if you do not have the above mentioned previous releases of the Memphis shows, this cd is not a good alternative.
I cannot remember last time I was that disappointed with an Elvis’ live cd.
My cd will end up on ebay, don’t waste your money on it.

Can you do it with water to ?. I never use water. I'm not sure but there might be harmfull (for a CD) substances in tapwater. But my vinyl I clean, every time before playing, using a non-static brush.
In water is more calk indeed .

Thanks. And yes. The original track as recorded first.Bilbobaggins wrote: September 15th, 2025, 7:21 amThat sounds good! You use every original track from the performer that first recorded it? Yes, it is a good journey as you say. And it also gives me renewed appreciation for Elvis' interpretation. Also, some of these tracks have made me fans of other artists.
I also have another playlist which has covers of these original titles done by other artists, but that is something I rarely visit unless I am looking for a specific reference.

Re: What Elvis Music Are You Listening To Now
While looking at all the nice posts by Alexander72 in the vinyl thread, I am listening to the first two volumes of these classic boots.
A couple of months before the first volume in this series was released, I was at an Elvis meeting in the Netherlands. There I heard someone say that a guy who produced bootlegs got his hand on about 60 hours of outtakes and stuff. I thought "Sure... keep dreaming... no way". Then, a few months later the first volume of "There's Always Me" was released. And later another volume, and another one and even a 4th one. And later the 2001 label took over. Well... so looking back, this guy was right.
These releases were so fan-tas-tic! Never before, such an amount of outtakes were released. Over the years there has been a lot of speculation on how these tapes got in circulation, but that is another story. And, by now, all this stuff has been officialy released. But in those days they were an answer to a lot of prayers. Even the artwork was stunning.
Playing them now brings back good memories.

Re: What Elvis Music Are You Listening To Now
I can relate to that. I realized I did the same thing with most of the soundboards. Play them once, skipping most of the tracks. That's when I decided to stop buying them. So I didn't buy the last two. Up untill then I bought every single FTD release to keep the collection complete. It felt like a tough decision for a completist like me, but now I'm totally comfortable with it. For the money I saved on the soundboards I got me some nice old vinyl. And those I play very often.KingElvis wrote: September 24th, 2025, 6:02 am The latest 77 FTD release but im skipping a lot of tracks…..![]()

Yes ,and I would never buy a release like this….but luckily a friend does, so I can borrow from him.Bilbobaggins wrote: September 24th, 2025, 6:21 amI can relate to that.
