Okay. Obviously Baz is doing a movie to catch the attention outside of the die hard fans. But why add instruemntation that doesnt even sound close to what TCB band did? Correct me if Im wrong, but isnt Mr Burton still able to produce those great licks?
My prediction is that this will be a great, fun watch in great quality. But songs will most likley be incomplete or have Elvis talking above the performances.
Bruce Springsteen just released Tracks II on 9 LPs. Retailing at $349.98. Id pay that for THe Hamtpon Roads show alone in 4K!

Yikes !
The above thought had also crossed my mind. I certainly don’t think we are going to see something aLong the lines of a revamped TTWII and EOT with a selection of songs to make up mini shows from 1970 and 1972. I think it’s going to be a bit of a jukebox kind of viewing with songs selected to back up Elvis’ comments and maybe not too unlike the opening of Elvis on Tour.
EPiC wil certainly not be just unreleased footage.
Just look at the earlier trailer.
And Oh Happy Day is an example of the new unseen quality of the material. (and I mean the visuals)
...based on what Joel Weinshanker has said during Elvis Week, there is a tremendous amount of unreleased footage and you will see some of it in EPiC as well as stuff that has already existed (so a combination of both) but you are not going to see it all the unreleased footage now, but it will be released over the coming months be it a BluRay or other projects leading up to 2027 and probably further. Those who have waited for many, many years (me included) will have to be even more patient now. Remember, EPiC does not even have a distributor as of yet, but I have no doubt that will come.
Of all the songs previously released from "That's The Way It Is," audibly, "Oh Happy Day" sounded the worst. The clips I've seen are an improvement, both visually and audibly. Sure, it would be nice to have Elvis' band playing with him, but if it was necessary to sacrifice them to obtain better audio, I don't mind.

Agreed, but they could've played as close to original band as possible. This sounds.....generic
Jamie and John talk about the news on Baz and EPIC going to TIFF, and what this project means for the footage from "Elvis: That's The Way it Is," "Elvis: On Tour," and more.....
"If the songs don't go over, we can do a medley of costumes."
Just listened to some kind of teaser music that Luhrmann hints at on a TikTok reel - it’s a mash up of Dirty Dirty Feeling and something else, but it sounds awful. I hope this is just his music engineer playing around for a bit of fun and that this kind of crap is not in the new movie. But I have a horrible feeling it will be included between Elvis talking and seeing certain performances.

If this is another JXL Remix type of all his hit songs, (aka "A Little Less Conversation" from 2002) ,you can count me out also.

Nothing like that. The song is somehow slowed right down.
Wouldn't surprise me if it's a song used for a movie montage as we know Elvis talks about his movies in the EOT interviews. Also it again would make a difference for the soundtrack, as otherwise you simply have a ttwii/on tour cd compilation.

As a bassist for 40 years..that isn't even close to the bass lines Jerry is playing...however it sounds great and in the vein the TCB Band.

...and that`s all that matters to me in the grand scheme of things, some choices probably had to be made!! Watching this clip of Elvis at the peak of his powers and accounting for it being a rehearsal...it`s superb
