Wearin' That Nightlife Look
Could have been lifted from Luhrmanns previous soundtrack Elvis.
This may take a bit of growing on me.

Re: Wearin' That Nightlife Look
Not a fan of any of the Baz Luhrmann remixes. That's mildly put. Can imagine it worked in cinema for non-fanbase audiences but I did not even bother to buy the soundtrack out of the sales bin.
Re: Wearin' That Nightlife Look
I really like it. I have it downloaded in my music with the rest of the album ready to be downloaded bit by bit and the entire album on February 20th. I just bought tickets for the IMAX showing on February 20th. Five miles from our house!!!!

Re: Wearin' That Nightlife Look
Don’t love it but who would have ever thought of combining these two tracks? This highlights how good Elvis was on the material he recorded for Viva Las Vegas. He’s great!

We all have our own opinions on these new mixes, I still can’t bring myself to listen to those ‘Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’ compilations from a few years ago.
I have listened to this mix, apparently they have used four tracks.
I can’t hear ‘I, John,’ anywhere but maybe my ears aren’t tuned in enough to pick it up. Can anyone else pick it out?

Other then the short "Hallelujah" chorus bit, can't hear it either. The Warder wrote: January 10th, 2026, 3:41 am We all have our own opinions on these new mixes, I still can’t bring myself to listen to those ‘Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’ compilations from a few years ago.

I like the mixes, it something fresh, just like in the "ELVIS" movie.
I have no problem if something creative is done with it.
We always have the originals many times over to go back too.
Re: Wearin' That Nightlife Look
To think they omitted one of Elvis's best ever live performances in " I Just Can't Help Believin'" for this pile of shite is beyond words.
Re: Wearin' That Nightlife Look
Man, I love it!! sent to my daughter she digs it too. I play the hell out of it on my spotify
Sure the originals I have and have loved forever but damn, i dig some of the new stuff makes it fresh and a different take. You know kinda like what this kid Elvis did with some old bluegrass country songs,,,,,he changed em up added words added notes made freakin cool music
So, yeah I welcome this and say bring on more

Re: Wearin' That Nightlife Look
What Elvis did to bluegrass country songs is that he added his genius. This has nothing to do with Elvis' genius. This mash up is a brain fart of some producer which I happen to do not like. I happen to find it disgusting and distasteful really, but what I do find a much bigger problem, is that with all the versions and mash ups being produced now (whether it's this grotesque monstrosity or the versions with the London Philharmonic Orchestra or the Matt Ross-Spang interpretations) in 10 years no one, other than the still-living, rapidly shrinking fan base, will remember what the original masters and songs were. Despite all of this, I am looking forward to the film thoughEscapeguy wrote: January 11th, 2026, 8:52 am Man, I love it!! sent to my daughter she digs it too. I play the hell out of it on my spotify

Could have been lifted from Luhrmanns previous soundtrack Elvis.

Elvis died almost 50 years ago.
With 2022's "Elvis" and now "EPiC," producer/director Baz Luhrmann is bringing him back to life for those who missed it the first time around.
It's energetic, alive and FRESH. I like it.
Jamieson Shaw, co-credited on this recording, is a 37 year-old Aussie and award-winning producer who also worked on "Elvis."
One of Shaw's comments on IG helps explain his process:
"The idea of these mash ups was to make fresh tracks from a collage of Elvis pieces, without adding overtly modern ‘beats’."
It's a brave new world, and the more successful the music and film are, the better for all fans, young and old. Exposure and interest will lead to many more projects and releases than if the man and his music just sit in a museum.

None of this is meant to change history but ADD to it.
The new film is going to accomplish the same thing. I have tickets in hand for an IMAX showing on February 18th.
Last note, I recently received a nice mini-review of "EPiC" from someone way up in the Elvis world:
"It’s something else – close to a miracle, although not everybody will agree. Even I had to realize that he was even greater than what I thought."
Boy, for me, February 18th cannot come soon enough.

:D
I can.
It's from the off-the-cuff rundown of "I, John" captured by MGM in April 1972, using the "hallelujah" refrain by the Sweet Inspirations.
It's heard right at the start of the mash up.
As should be obvious, Baz Luhrmann and his team are really something.
