I always thought that everyone knew about the Record Covers album until I recently saw David talking about it on his Elvis Presley In Japan YouTube channel. Basically it’s the Portrait In Music album with a big book attached. It contains the full size artwork to all of Elvis’ albums right up to Moody Blue plus some German compilations. There is also a section with text and photographs. As soon as I saw this I wanted a copy but being a teenager I couldn’t afford it. I managed to find a good used copy a few years later.

Now that is unusual Colin.Bee, a picture disc with a whippet. I just did a bit of research on this one, issued around 1980. Link attached to ‘Discogs’ with information.Colin.Bee wrote: January 3rd, 2026, 1:23 pm This one is from Poland I believe, again I’ve had it in my collection for many years.

Yes, that’s about the time I bought it.The Warder wrote: January 4th, 2026, 2:09 amNow that is unusual Colin.Bee, a picture disc with a whippet. I have this one too. It's a real beauty. Im not at the stage where I'm looking to sell my collection just yet, but if I ever decide to slim it down to a small selection of essential CD's, I would probably still keep this one as it's a great reference for the album artwork...Colin.Bee wrote: January 3rd, 2026, 1:33 pm I always thought that everyone knew about the Record Covers album until I recently saw David talking about it on his Elvis Presley In Japan YouTube channel. That’s funny because that’s the main reason I bought it. Having very limited funds at the time it was a great way to get all those album covers.rockinrebel wrote: January 4th, 2026, 6:09 amI have this one too. It's a real beauty. To make it even worse, on my Japanese cd version of "On stage", the same 'lyrics' are usedJohnnyByeBye wrote: January 5th, 2026, 2:47 pm"Where the alligators go to some meeting" ???Bilbobaggins wrote: January 5th, 2026, 9:19 amNice uploads! To make it even (worse) worse... on the German CD version from the 90's... yep, same lyrics. Most of the songs lyrics have silly mistakes in the booklet.JohanD wrote: January 6th, 2026, 9:55 amTo make it even worse, on my Japanese cd version of "On stage", the same 'lyrics' are usedJohnnyByeBye wrote: January 5th, 2026, 2:47 pm"Where the alligators go to some meeting" ???Bilbobaggins wrote: January 5th, 2026, 9:19 amNice uploads! Re: Show us your Elvis vinyl from around the world.
Today I received this beauty. It is a Yugoslavian pressing of 4-lp box set Worldwide 50 Gold Award Hits vol. 1, complete with a booklet. Back in the early 80's I remember seeing a mention of that somewhere and it seemed like it was from another planet,it was impossible to find.
Well, thanks to the falling of the iron curtain and wonders of the Internet,it is possible to find gems like this for a reasonable price from a country that actually is no more.
The box set was manufactured by a local (state owned?) Record Company Jugoton. All in all, a very nice package albeit in a little bit worn condition.

Wow, never ever saw this one before... I can't say I'm impressed by the artwork, but, if I bumped into it for a good price, I'd take it home!

Nice addition to have in the collection, I’ve only seen maybe two copies of the ‘Jugoton’ release in over 50 years of collecting. Good find JohnnyByeBye.JohnnyByeBye wrote: January 8th, 2026, 1:24 pm Today I received this beauty. As you say ‘The Wonders Of The Internet’ I’ve just done a quick look on discogs.

The Italian 1982 version from the album that was released one year earlier.
"The European side of Elvis" is a good sounding classy theme compilation.
