I placed an easy chair in the middle of the room and enjoy my music (and the view)... I took this photo in panorama mode, so it looks much bigger than it really is. Still... I'm proud of it!
How do you store your treasures?

So I got special permission from the lady of the houseto store my goodies in a spare room in our house. I usually put protective sleeves on my LP's. CD's and books and then place them on the shelves. The room has no windows/sunlight and a constant temperature, so it's perfect for storing a collection.

Thank you very much! Your advice is appreciated. You are right about the speakers... I am still figuring out how to replace them. It really is a small room so my options are limited. The best option would be to start tough negotiations (wich I most likely will lose) with my dear wife, to get a bigger room.JohnnyByeBye wrote: December 17th, 2025, 4:59 amBilbo, your Elvis room looks greatBilbobaggins wrote: December 15th, 2025, 6:22 am I'm very fond of my collection and I love to watch it while listening to a nice LP or CD. How do you store your treasures?Your lady is a wise woman
I can see that you have put a lot of effort on displaying different items which is nice. The pictures and posters are very cool too! Personally I would put the lp's somewhere higher but that's just matter of opinion of course.
I do think your speakers are not in an optimal place for the best sound. Should be on the height of your ears when you are listening and in more open space with more distance to the back wall. Try and you could be amazed how much of a difference the placement has.
I am more of an archival type of person myself, everything needs to be as compact as possible. In my music room, all my lps and singles as well as printed items are in a same bookshelve, taking as little space as possible. They are orginized according to the original release year of the title. Bootlegs are separate from official releases, sorted according to the year when the main body of the record's material was recorded.
My Elvis cd's are in a separate cd shelve with cd's from other artists. My Elvis DVDs are in a DVD shelve with other DVD's.
Due to the curse of the vinyl collecting bug, I've had to re-arrange lp's now and then to make room for new additions. Rarely there is extra space available....![]()
Yes, I sometimes play my CD'S in the living room. But when I really want to enjoy music undisturbed, I listen upstairs. My dear wife likes to watch some series on TLC for an hour or so after dinner... That's not my cup of tea so then I wander off to my music room. Win-win, every way you look at it. And you have a wonderful Elvis room !
I know the challenge with very small rooms,it's hard to set up an optimal listening space in a very small room, especially if there is another function for the room as well - like storing a lot of Elvis stuff. Were the shelves where you display your cd's there before your moved your Elvis stuff in? They take a lot of space but I totally understand that you want your records to be displayed.Bilbobaggins wrote: December 17th, 2025, 5:42 am Thank you very much! Your advice is appreciated. The room started out as just a "display and storage" room for my CD's, books and old vinyl. That's when I put the shelves in. But when I started collecting vinyl again, a couple of years ago, I decided to put a record player in the room. Then came the easy chair... then came a CD player... then I added a fine bottle of Scottish single malt whiskyJohnnyByeBye wrote: December 17th, 2025, 11:09 amI know the challenge with very small rooms,it's hard to set up an optimal listening space in a very small room, especially if there is another function for the room as well - like storing a lot of Elvis stuff.
