The original Dorsey recordings are not the best soundquality ever, not bad, but certainly not excellent.
Curious to hear what they will be doing...

Thank you @Johnny2523 . Hadn't seen this. Although I must say that I am not a fan of "created" stereo. 50's recordings, if recorded in mono, should stay mono imo. But I can understand that people appreciate this technology.

I mostly agree but if it truly enhances the sound quality im all for it.

Thank you for the sample @skabillyrebels. I've listened to it, with headphones. Of course, the source material isn't very good, but still... I think this 'stereo' version sounds messy (or: messier than the original). Not my cup of tea. What is your opinion?

It's also hit and miss depending on who is doing the separation. On some releases I noticed the compressed sound making it almost distorted... specially on some of the soundboard shows. While it may be an "interesting fad", it certainly doesn't improve the experience for this listener...
