Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Neon and Universal Pictures International announced Wednesday that It will release Epic: Elvis Presley In Concert next year. The film opens Feb. 20 in IMAX theaters and Feb. 27 everywhere.
Baz Luhrmann directed the film. Luhrmann assembled footage from Presley's Las Vegas residency in the 1970s, 16mm footage from Elvis on Tour and 8mm footage from the Graceland Archives.
Luhrmann discovered this material while researching his 2022 Elvis film. The announcement says Epic also includes audio recordings of Presley giving "his side of the story."
Epic premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. Sony Music Vision, Luhrmann's Bazmark and Authentic Studios produced Epic.
