Mega record and CD fair in the Netherlands
Yesterday I visited the international Mega Record an CD fair in den Bosch, the Netherlands. Every visit I am amazed how huge this fair is... the biggest in the world, they state! There are dealers from all over the world and there are a lot of quality records to be found. Plenty of Elvis vinyl (and CD's) too! I can only recommend this fair to everybody. So if you ever have the chance to visit... do not hesitate.
Some nice items were added to my collection!
To give you an impression... There are two giant halls!

@JohanD I am most pleased with the 1960 Indianapolis pressing of Elvis is Back (VG+), the 1965 UK red spot of Rock 'n' Roll no 2 (VG+) and the mint copy of For the asking). The rest is very nice too... all ranging from VG+ and NM to M. The only exception is Pot Luck (mono UK 1962) wich is G+ to VG.

Funny, you have a 1960 Indy pressing of Elvis is Back (mono) but a 1964 jacket. The white top monaural and stereo pressings of that LP are tough to find. Although it stayed in print, it does not seem like it was a huge catalogue seller.
Great pick up of a mint For The Asking. We in the U.S. had a much inferior album design when the LP was putout here.

Are you sure it is a 1964 jacket? This is the version I have, if I'm not mistaken...Mike C wrote: November 16th, 2025, 8:10 am Funny, you have a 1960 Indy pressing of Elvis is Back (mono) but a 1964 jacket. Yes, Johan from Elvis Corner was there. As always, he had a lot of vinyl. Good quality at realistic prices.AfoolSuchAsI. wrote: November 16th, 2025, 8:02 am Hi Bilbobaggins, Congratulations with youre fantastic records ! Haved you seeing the Elvis Corner there ?

Wow,that Record Fair looks to be HUGE! Must have been great to go through Elvis lp's there. Congratulations on the nice purchases as well
Can I ask how much did you pay for the For The Asking? It seems to be more than 50 eur usually when there are copies available.

Re: Mega record and CD fair in the Netherlands
50 eur is a good price for that record
The Fair sounds like something I need to start saving for if it happens again next year. The best way to fight the darkness of the November.

No, I bought this one from a Danish dealer, together with the fine copy of Elvis Forever Volume 3.AfoolSuchAsI. wrote: November 16th, 2025, 11:47 am All right in april i going to Brabants hallen.

For those that want to know when's the next upcoming fair for this: https://recordplanet.nl/en/
Re: Mega record and CD fair in the Netherlands
It is definitely the second pressing of the lp jacket. Most 1960 pressings had the yellow sticker with song titles, although the super early pressings had no stickers at all. Is there an "RE" in the lower left corner of the front cover? That is the dead giveaway it is the second generation cover.Bilbobaggins wrote: November 16th, 2025, 8:26 amAre you sure it is a 1964 jacket? Offhand, did it include the original inner sleeve. That might help you date the pressing. Perhaps, it was sold around late 1962 or 1963.
It is still a beautiful record and since it is an indy press, it is the closest to Bill Porter's original mono mix.

Here are some photo's of the vinyl, the matrixnumber, the label and the outer and inner sleeve.Mike C wrote: November 16th, 2025, 2:53 pmIt is definitely the second pressing of the lp jacket. I checked the verificationlist for US pressings @colonelsnow provided, discogs and Elvisrecords.com at https://www.elvisrecords.com/inner-sleeves/
It does make me think that it is the version discogs mentions: https://www.discogs.com/release/2455818 ... is-Is-Back
But, as I am no expert on US labels... every opnion is welcome! Always good to learn!

Re: Mega record and CD fair in the Netherlands
That's a first pressing from Indianapolis from 1960 allright. The Indianapolis plant pressed their 1st pressings somewhat later (the very first pressings were from Rockaway) and apparently Indianapolis had not printed sleeves either, so they could print song titles on the sleeve from the very first run on. Nice catch!Bilbobaggins wrote: November 17th, 2025, 3:17 amHere are some photo's of the vinyl, the matrixnumber, the label and the outer and inner sleeve.Mike C wrote: November 16th, 2025, 2:53 pmIt is definitely the second pressing of the lp jacket.
