New "Songs for Christmas" album

Post by Petri »

I wonder if this new album is Graceland exclusive only release. But tracklisting, and running order too(!), are quite familiar comparing it to one 1957 album...

Tracklist:
1. Santa Claus is Back in Town
2. White Christmas
3. Here Comes Santa Claus (Right Down Santa Lane)
4. I'll Be Home for Christmas
5. Blue Christmas
6. Santa Bring My Baby Back (to Me)
7. O Little Town of Bethlehem
8. Silent Night
9. (There'll Be) Peace in the Valley (for Me)
10. I Believe
11. Take My Hand, Precious Lord
12. It is No Secret (What God Can Do)

Not new at all, i have a (grey coloured) pressing of this since 2012... it's been re-issued several times, in various colours.

Love the cover, but such a release further reminds us of the never ending commercialism that pollutes the market(s) at this time of year. There's only so many times one can supplement their vinyl/CD collection with another Elvis Christmas compilation!

And after those, reissued a couple of times in different colors.
