Re: Complete list of Elvis Music On Vinyl reissues
I’ll be getting a selected few but not all. I wonder why they are not doing From Elvis in Memphis, Elvis Country and Promised Land, three great albums, especially the first one.

I guess there are several reasons for this:FanFrom'61 wrote: August 9th, 2025, 10:37 am I’ll be getting a selected few but not all. I wonder why they are not doing From Elvis in Memphis, Elvis Country and Promised Land, three great albums, especially the first one.
These are all re-releases of no longer available albums, so...
- Promised Land is still available in their webshop and quite some retailers
- From Elvis In Memhis only recently sold out in their webshop and is still available at retailers
- Elvis Country was never released by MOV, as far as I know. But I agree that it is a great album that could hopefully be released by MOV in the future?

Indeed the 4 LP TTWII is hard to find. It took me a long time to find a good copy. But I will get this re-release too. Absolutely!JohanD wrote: August 9th, 2025, 12:50 pm Thanks for this news!
The 4lp That's the way it is and Stax has surely my attention!
It also took me quite some effort to find a copy of the "Viva Las Vegas" LP. That's another rare one. A pity that one isn't on their new release list...

Bought it at the time of release, indeed a fine collection.

Not a big fan of those 4LP reissues... they're huge and heavy. IMO be better if MOV reissued LP's like TTWII and Memphis '74 in their original single LP form... like they did with On Stage and Back In Memphis...

To be honest, I have to agree with your point that they are (too) huge and heavy. By the way, TTWII will also be released as a single LP.

Re: Elvis Music On Vinyl reissues
This is what MOV states:
"We use the best audio available to cut our records. We receive and use different kinds of masters: analogue tapes, original metal parts, lacquers cut from analogue tapes and high-res digital files 192/96khz/24 bit of the original masters. Music On Vinyl does not use CDs as masters.
For every release, the final approval on the audio is always given by the license holder."
I have several MOV releases, also from other artists. I'm (almost) always very pleased with the sound. Dead silent vinyl and good sound. But I am not an audiophile I must add.

Re: Elvis Music On Vinyl reissues
Looking at the Numbers, and I’ve got three albums with a combination of three numbers - 140, 401 and 410.
But just had a listen to all three and there’s a nasty jump on the second track of LP1 on the Stax album and also second to last track on Side 4 of Elvis Sings…. Too late to have a proper look now, but hopefully, putting them on my RCM will solve the problem. I don’t want to have to go through the hassle of returning them to the Netherlands.

Re: Elvis Music On Vinyl reissues
Well, that's bad luck. I played my copies a couple of times and they play fine. So far, I never had any problem with a MOV product. I really hope that a cleaning will solve the problem! It can't be solve with a little anti-skating adjustment, can it?FanFrom'61 wrote: August 20th, 2025, 4:16 pm Looking at the Numbers, and I’ve got three albums with a combination of three numbers - 140, 401 and 410.

Re: Elvis Music On Vinyl reissues
Ran both through my RCM although needed to do it twice - the first one removed the skips but still left a noticeable pop, and the second time removed most of the pop. As I record them for my digital library, I can filter out the remaining bit of the click /pop so thankfully, all okay.Bilbobaggins wrote: August 21st, 2025, 1:47 amWell, that's bad luck. My only disappointment was the Date With Elvis release with the label looking more like a dark grey as opposed to black and with text/logo that kind of blends in and doesn’t really stand out. Also, I would have preferred the green vinyl version that does not form part of the ‘exclusive set’ - the grey marble is a bit bland and boring, but hey ho.
Now need to think about the next batch - go for the three exclusives or the non exclusives?? lol.

Re: Elvis Music On Vinyl reissues
Glad you managed to get rid of the imperfections but too bad you had to do it. I'll stick with the exclusives, because I already have most of the MOV releases in earlier pressings.FanFrom'61 wrote: August 21st, 2025, 6:30 amRan both through my RCM although needed to do it twice - the first one removed the skips but still left a noticeable pop, and the second time removed most of the pop. You are right about the A Date With Elvis exclusive. It looks like it's been stored in the attic for 67 years....

May I ask, what RCM do you use? I'm thinking of getting one, but some are very expensive and I don't know if the cheaper ones are any good. Thanks in advance!
