I don't know if these songs are spookie, but to me the most haunting one is "Blue Moon". Incredible that a 19 years old kid sings a song in such a breathtaking way on a hot august night (or day) in a small studio in downtown Memphis! I would love to have witnessed that recording!

"Damn Elvis, what was that about, you didn't sing the chorus, one of the loveliest parts of the whole piece"?
"I forgot the words, Mr Phillips".
"Yeah man, we can't release that".

Re: Vote for Elvis' spookiest song
Night Rider is an odd song
and anniversary of it's recording date
as a teenager It was always confusing to me that the singer's anxiety of his girlfriend just leaving town with a random guy on a motorcycle
as an adult, that seems very serial killery character to me
but I also get the many reasons why a woman may take that risk
either way. it does not speak well for the singer character and the relationship he offers....
