Elvis Forever Vol.2
I have this one on order. It's the German black label pressing: NL 89075, which presumably is a later reissue.
Therefore, my question is, does this version of the album feature the songs with stereo channels missing, or does this only apply to original pressings?

Re: (Small) imperfections on studio masters
I think sometimes they just went with the feeling. Whole Lotta Shakin' was a one take jam for example. Would it have been any better if Elvis and the band had done another ten takes? Probably not.
Of course later on, with things like Way Down it was a case of Felton getting what he could and trying ...

Re: 12th of Never
Wasn't the Twelfth Of Never one of the rumoured 6 songs Elvis asked Charlie to find the lyrics and chord changes for the tour that never happened in August 1977?
Yes, but its unlikely that the August 1977 tour would have been any different to the previous ones. Therefore, any new additions to ...

Re: UPDATED WITH FULL VERSION - Is this Elvis singing or the best AI job ever????
I think if we are a few years further in time no one is gonna see what is real and what is AI
And AI is a standard unfortunately.
Don't know if we can see this as a good thing.
It could be used for worthy causes such as creating new stereo mixes from mono sources or multitracks mixes from 4 ...

Re: Show us your Elvis vinyl from around the world.
I always thought that everyone knew about the Record Covers album until I recently saw David talking about it on his Elvis Presley In Japan YouTube channel. Basically it’s the Portrait In Music album with a big book attached. It contains the full size artwork to all of Elvis’ albums right up to ...

Re: Ernst and 2027
It looks like the soundboards are still reasonably popular amongst certain sections of the fan base, but how many they have left is anybody's guess.
The vinyl reissues appear popular at the moment, but I would agree with FanFrom'61 that this is likely to be short lived.

Re: (Small) imperfections on studio masters
In the song “I'll Hold You in My Heart” from the album From Elvis In Memphis, you can hear someone speaking in the first few seconds of the song, someone even says “Okay”....
Yes indeed. @rockinrebel mentioned this a few posts back. In fact, the master is preceded by two false starts on the ...

The laughter at the end of If You Talk In Your Sleep, which funnily enough doesn't feature on every version of the master.
The false starts at the beginning of I'll Hold You In My Heart. It's hard to imagine what the song would sound like with a clean intro after all these years...

Re: Elvis vinyl related discussion
During the Christmas holidays, I've had some more time to listen to some of my older vinyls that I've barely listened before. Randomly, I picked an old (1959 maybe?) US pressing of "For LP Fans Only". It is a mono pressing with of course many SUN era tracks. Since it doesn't have any major ...

Re: In search of the best compilation of Elvis' Christmas songs
he only did 2 christmas records
it is odd a release of a 2 disc set has not been done
It has, and there are also numerous compilations that mix tracks from both albums.
As martin018 advised, If Everyday Was Like Christmas is the one to get.
Yes , that's a pretty good one.
But to have ...

Re: FTD World 1999-2025 - 2 Soft Cover Books Coming Out
I look at it this way. Of course there is a distinct difference between studio and live work, but in August 1969, February 1970 and February 1972 Elvis knew he was being recorded with a view to compiling albums, although with regards to the latter engagement said album didn't materialise.
August ...

Re: New EPiC Soundtrack Release
I can only assume that Luhrmann will be responsible for remixing, remastering, and eventually releasing the footage of the 'complete' Hampton Roads concert...?
I can envisage it now:
Elvis Live - the complete Hampton Roads '72 concert...featuring the backing of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra ...
